Isaac is talking up a storm. And sometimes he blabs, and I have no idea what he's saying. With this new job, I'm able to pick Isaac up from school everyday. He gets so excited when he sees me, and I love it :). After I pick him up and we get in the car, I always ask him about his day. He tells me what he colored and he pulls out his paper, "I color this!"
Today he told me he went to chapel-they go every Wednesday. I asked him what he did and he put his hands in position and said "I pray." haha.
And the funniest thing...yesterday he told me that he prays at school. When I asked him when, he said "When I eat sandwich."
Our afternoon conversations have been one of the favorite parts of the day. I am amazed by how much he's talking and how insightful he can be sometimes. He comments on people's feelings, even Molly..."She's sad."
I'm so proud of my boy.

Back to School-3 Year Old Style!
So when Ms. Amanda sent info for us to bring one pullup only (for naptime) and one extra outfit (with socks), I panicked. He was supposed to use underwear the whole day? I knew this day would come, but I was stressing. So I packed 2 extra shorts and 3 extra pairs of underwear. She probably laughed at me.
So you can imagine my surprise when I picked him up from aftercare and there was only one wet underwear and shorts! That means he either held it all day or he used the potty! Since implementing his potty map, he's gone a few times. And today when we got home from school, I sat him on the toilet where he pee peed. Then while I was cooking, he told me that he had to poo poo. When I brought him, sure enough...he went! No accidents since we've been home. We are so proud of him :) :)
He had a great day today (at least I think so!) Here he is before school with his new lunchkit.
And here he is showing off his coloring sheet from today...with a silly smile and a pirate sword.
We're so excited to see his progress for this year!

Let's try something new...
We've been working on this potty training thing nonstop. I mean, I even tell coworkers that I have to "go potty" (as opposed to the restroom). LOL. We've kicked it into high gear because Isaac starts school next week, and well...he's supposed to be potty trained. He's not. Oops. BUT, we have progress. He's much better at controlling it. Yesterday he pee pee'd and poo poo'd in the potty and he was SO proud of himself. On Sunday I ordered a book from Amazon and we just got it in today. Since pirates are his new thing (and his birthday party theme this year!), we ordered Pirate Potty.
The book came with a little punch out pirate hat and some gold doubloon stickers as rewards. So I drew a little map and put it in the bathroom. When he uses the potty, he'll get to pick stickers on his map. And he only wears the hat when he's on the potty.
Wish us luck!

Family Update!
I realized that not only have I not been updating the blog as often, I also haven't been keeping ya'll up to date with everything. So first thing's first. Isaac is talking like crazy! Early Steps ends at three so he'll be evaluated soon to see if he will need to continue speech. He is speaking sentences on his own and his annunciation improves daily. Some of my favorite sentences from him so far:
"Omi, you have to listen to me."
"It's Isaac's turn for tv."
"Mooooooooommmmmyyyyyyy...what you doing??"
He's so much fun :)

Next, I just started a new job. And I mean JUST. Today was my second day. It's a clinical position at Children's Hospital in New Orleans. It's completely different from what I was doing, but I feel like I'm learning so much. I also work better hours which makes life at home a lot easier. I've been busy with my nutrition blog as well: ABC's of Mealtime. If you haven't checked it out already, please do. And don't be afraid to comment! It keeps me motivated.
Andrew just finished his summer classes, so now he'll be staying at home with Isaac until they go back to school. He's also waiting tables as a side gig :) He's working hard on subjects that I hate: Calculus and Physics. I told him I can help with Nutrition 101. HAHA.
Our family has been awesome helping us with Isaac. We had a couple weeks when camp ended and we didn't have a sitter. We are SO very blessed to have family that can help. I hope all is well with everyone. Here is a pic of Isaac just for fun :)

Fourth of July Weekend!
This year for the Fourth of July, we spent a lot of day with family. On Sunday we had a BBQ at my cousin's house. Isaac played in the pool with his cousins and daddy got to go frogging! (Funny story).
The next day we went out on the boat with Tat, Omi, Goddie, and more cousins! We were in Slidell this time. We had a blast :)

Isaac's New "Cousin"

He's getting there...
Ok, up until this point I have refrained from discussing potty training. It's a sore subject because Isaac was just not interested for the longest time and well, I'm not the most patient person. I've tried what people have told me: reading books, running water, singing songs, Elmo's Potty Time, letting him run around with only a brief...not of it works. Until now. Randomly while we had family over, he decided to tell grandma that he had to poo poo and he went with no problem. Later on he tinkled with no problem. So I bought more briefs and he's at least open to sitting on the potty so that makes me a happy camper. And of course, seeing his tiny little body in a brief is adorable as well! Here's a pic of him in his briefs and he's wearing his "popas" (flip flops). haha. Happy Weekend to all!
