Mommy's First Field Trip!

Isaac's old school was so last minute with letting us know about field trips, that I was never able to go. Thanks to Nanny and Daddy though because they chaperoned for him. This year at his new school, they went on one field trip and I was able to go. It was at Storyland in City Park. If you can recall, we went a birthday party there last year and since then, he has gone back a couple of times. He loves it!

I think what was so special about the trip for me, was to be able to watch Isaac interact with the other children. Sometimes I worry that maybe because he's a bit delayed with the speech, that he doesn't get to interact with them. That's definitely not the case! He was talking and playing with them and they were talking to him. We had so much fun! I am so pleased with his new school and so happy that we made the switch. He has had so much progress since then :). Now he'll be starting summer camp next Tuesday then entering the 3 year old class in September! (That is, if he can potty train!) In between, he'll be spending his days with daddy. From the looks of it, they're having a blast.

A Day for Mothers

Mother's Day was awesome this year. Isaac, Andrew, and ate breakfast/brunch at the Court of Two Sisters. If you live in New Orleans and have never been there, you're definitely missing out! We had really good food at the buffet and I enjoyed a mimosa as well :)

Just like last year, we went to a crawfish boil at my cousin's house. It was a lot of fun to spend time with my cousins, and the food was awesome :). Isaac had a lot of fun swimming and jumping on the trampoline. We were also able to spend some time with Nanny, Grandma, and Great Gram. We are so blessed to have such amazing mommies in our lives, including Omi. As for myself, being a mom is absolutely amazing. Isaac has been such a blessing in my life.

Bible Songs

My mom's been wanting to buy Isaac a cd with Christian songs and we found a really good one. Isaac loves it but tends to stick to the upbeat ones! He was trying to sing along too :)

Hearing Test

Since Isaac will be turning 3 this year, they are starting to transition him from Early Steps. In order to see whether he would need to continue speech therapy he needed to get a hearing test. A couple weeks ago, they tried but he had fluid in both ears. They did it today and he passed with flying colors! (Despite still having fluid in one ear) This leads me to believe that it's just an articulation issue. His speech therapist agrees with me. He is saying more and more by the day and even more importantly, he's starting to pronounce things better. He used to just call Andrew "da" and now he says "da-ddy." And it's very clear (and cute!) I might add. He tries to call Molly (although it sounds more like "Ahhhh-eeee").

His teacher told Andrew today that Isaac has come so far. Her exact words were "He is not the same little boy he was when we first met." That makes me so proud...and so grateful for him to have such great teachers and a speech therapist. I'm not sure where we'll go from here, but I do know that I feel very positive about his progress so far and have every reason to believe that he'll do just fine :).

Oh yeah, and one more thing. He's finally saying another word! That's right, he's saying "mommy." :) Some of you may remember some of the older blog posts of him rebelling against this word. What's SO funny about what he's saying is...well, it's "Bobby." He has problems with his m's. But either way, I don't care. It's funny, it's cute, and I know what he means!
