Elliot is 6 months old!

I can't believe it! Really...I know I say it every month, but SIX MONTHS?? Wow. He currently weighs 17 lbs 6 oz and is 25.25 inches long. His weight/age is 25th-50th percentile (for a regular 6 month old!), length is 3-10th percentile, making his weight/length between the 90-97th percentile :). And you can tell! haha, Dr. Defusco is so pleased with his progress. The majority of his development is in line with a term 6 month old...although one noticeable thing is the need to sharpen his fine motor skills. He's getting there! My little man is a chunky bundle of joy! He is very pleasant and loves to laugh and smile. He is working on sitting up on his own (he's still using his hands). He is rolling and scooting around like crazy! His favorite things are big brother's old jumperoo, his gym, and just a plain old blanket on the floor.

He has no teeth yet, but his gums sure are bothering him. In fact I just bought him one of those vibrating teether things and he seems too like it so far. All the ladies love him at daycare and say that he's so pleasant. He's still breastfeeding well and taking 5 oz bottles while I'm at work.

My favorite thing is watching him and Isaac together!

The Graduate!

I can't believe how big my little man is getting. Last week, he graduated preK, and I was all tears about it. In fact, I had a lot of anxiety leading up to it. I just can't believe how quickly time is flying by. The class did so great with their songs and little performances. And of course, he was adorable walking across the stage. After his graduation, we went to the park for some fun. Kindergarten, here we come!

Elliot is 5 Months Old!

I can't believe how big my little bub is getting. Elliot loves to roll back and forth and push himself in random positions. Trying to work on strengthening his torso for sitting. He's found his hands and loves to suck on that thumb! Although he still likes his bouncy seat, he prefers big brother's old horsey jumperoo. Mostly, he enjoys just laying on the floor on his big play blanket and hugging his soft toys.

Daycare is going well. And breastfeeding is still going well. He's just slightly sleeping through the night (~6 hours). He is babbling more and more, loves to smile, and is such a cuddler.

We are so blessed to have this little doodlebug in our lives!!

Geaux Zephyrs!!

Last week, Goddie and I took Isaac to his first Zephyrs game. I love baseball, but somewhere along the line I stopped watching it. Obviously, we don't have a Pro team here in New Orleans, but we do have the Zephyrs which is a AAA team. My old dancing school had a fundraiser selling tickets, so we figured it was a good time to take him.

His interest in the game lasted a total of about 10 minutes. HAHA. But we played some arcade games, walked around, and spent a lot of money on food. The Zephyrs won, so that was fun. And we got to enjoy the firework show after the game...they do those on Friday nights. We had a blast! Can't wait to take him again.

Elliot is 4 months old!

Well, my little peanut is getting to be a big boy! At 4 months old, Elliot weighs in at 14 pounds 10 ounces and is 58.3 cm long (~23 inches). His weight/length is over 97%. HAHA. That's because his weight is caught up for his actual age of 4 months (50%), but his length is not. It is less than 3%.

But that's ok. We usually still correct for prematurity at this point. Plus, from experience...the length takes longer to catch up than the weight does. From a developmental standpoint, he's doing great. He is trying to bat at some objects with his hands, but not very coordinated yet. He's tracking objects and voices like he's supposed to. And he just started rolling from belly to back. He's sitting in the bumbo and working more on head control. He's still waking up twice at night. No problems with nursing :). And he's smiling regularly!

Easter 2013 - Elliot's First Easter!

Easter already! Last night, we dyed some Easter eggs-Avengers style. We spent Easter morning at our house, where the boys and Molly were given their Easter goodies. According to my facebook timeline, it appears that Easter is the new Christmas. Kids are getting more and more!! We still kept it simple with their Easter baskets. Isaac mostly got some Ninja Turtle stuff and a lit bit of candy. Elliot got some little toys, baby bubble bath, and some teething rings. Molly got a bone :).

Then we went to Nanny and Poppy's for a late lunch. The food was great, and Isaac also did an Easter egg hunt there. It was nice to also spend time with Great Gram and Uncle Todd. Then we made a stop at Grandma's.

Isaac was so spoiled with baskets at each stop! What a great day with family!

Family Update

Hi! This past few months have been a whilrwind...I figured I should give an update on each of us.

Elliot- He's four months old now. I forgot just how fun it is at this age to see them explore the little things each day. He's getting so big...and chunky! And he's looking more and more like my mom and that side of the family. We don't think he looks like his big brother when he was that age at all. I look at him and can't believe he was born 2 months early...although he's a little developmentally behind, he's doing great!

Isaac- He's such a good big brother! I'm not sure if he's gotten that much bigger/older or if it just seems that way now that we have Elliot. He's so smart and all of his "why" questions are starting to be more insightful. Yesterday he asked me why the moon was round and not a crescent like usual. Right now he's into the Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, and the Avengers. I can't believe he'll be going into kindergarten in the fall.

Mommy- I have adjusted to being back at work. Two weeks after returning from maternity leave, my boss told us she would be leaving. She's now gone and I've found myself there longer than the other dietitians. I'm left working in the NICU and I'm now the fulltime metabolic dietitian...doing VERY specialized diets for children with metabolic disorders such as PKU and galactosemia (and TONS more). I love it and I'm learning every day. I'm contemplating going for the chief dietitian position. That about sums life up..work, pumping, and family. We're also still trying to get the house straight. Can you believe that we still have a few boxes that need unpacking? haha

Daddy- He is now working full time with Dish Network doing home installations. Starting next week, he'll be out of training and on his own. Although his long term plan is to be an electrical engineer, we had to put school on hold for a bit. Daddy loves playing with Isaac and learning to be quite the handyman at home.

Our family has been through so many changes over the past year and we are so very grateful that we have such a great support system in our friends and family. Even through tough times, God always seems to provide for us.
