Prayer Request
Our nephew Austin is having a tonsillectomy today. Please pray with us that the surgery goes smoothly, and that Austin can have a quick recovery. I also hope that we have a good trip to Houston this weekend and find an apartment within our budget! I hope that everyone had a great Christmas!

Celebration in the Oaks
It's snowing!!
Sweet Isaac
Thanksgiving
We went to Houston for Thanksgiving, so Isaac got to meet his Uncles B and C (hehe) and his Aunt Ashley. He also got to spend time with Austin and Summer. Summer wanted to be by him all the time and treated him like one of her baby dolls. She even "fed" him some food from her kitchen! Austin wasn't very interested but wanted to play with his toys. It was a great holiday. Thank you so much Uncle C and Ashley for making us feel right at home!! Love ya'll!

Isaac is two months old!!
So, Isaac is already 2 months old. He looks so much bigger from his 1 month pic. At his wellbaby visit, he weighed 12 lbs. 1 oz, which is 75th percentile. And he was 23 inches. He has much better control of his head and he's "talking" all the time! Time is going by so fast, but I'm enjoying every minute!

Meeting some Varelas
So, I finally have good computer access. Thanks Jenny! =) Now that we're back in Nola, Isaac has been able to meet some family members. Here are some pics of him meeting some of my family. My dad just loves to tote him around like his little buddy!

Changes!
Hi everyone. I know that I have been so absent from posting but as most of you know...we have been through a lot lately. We are no longer in Hawaii. We moved on November 12 and we've been in New Orleans staying with family since then. Isaac is doing great...he is holding his head up much better and is smiling all the time! He's such a good baby and we are so blessed to have him in our lives. Andrew has found a temporary job in New Orleans which may turn permanent but he is looking for a job in Houston. I was accepted into the dietetic internship at the University of Houston and it starts on January 19 so we'll be moving again soon. I just want to thank everyone for all the prayers for our family and for helping us out as much as you can. I can't wait to update the blog with pictures as soon as I can get the pictures on a computer. Love ya'll!

Happy Halloween!
So I caved and bought Isaac a Halloween costume only for pictures. HAHA. At least I waited last minute and got it 50% off. It's a very comfy outfit...he's only crying in one because he was hungry, but after feeding him (IN the costume I might add), he was fine. That last 2 pictures are in the outfit that Andrew's mom got Isaac. It is adorable but still a little big. He's gonna wear that tonight but I put him in it so I can take pictures now. He had just eaten so he wans't interested at all. Happy Halloween everyone!!

Isaac is one month old!
I can't believe my little bubs is already 1 month old! We went to his pediatrician yesterday to follow up with his weight. He started off at 6lb 5.6oz. At his 2 week checkup he was 6lb 12oz and yesterday he was...8lb 10oz!! Holy Cow!! While I am sad that he is getting bigger, I am very happy that he's obviously eating well. We have mastered (well almost) the art of breastfeeding. I was adamant about doing it...it was just a personal choice of mine that I feel strongly about and I'm so glad that it's been working! It wasn't easy for either of us to learn with him in the NICU attached to those wires...but we got the hang of it together and with the help of daddy.
So Isaac is smiling more and more but still not "socially". Just in response to having a belly full of milk =). He can also focus on our faces. He is starting to hold his head up...especially when I'm trying to burp him! He is over being swaddled. When I try, he grunts like a pig and kicks until he frees himself. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. It's so amazing to just watch him grow and discover things around him. And we can't wait for everyone to meet our little man!!

Nanny meets Isaac!
Andrew's mom got to come to Hawaii to meet Isaac and to help us with him. It was really good to have her around and definitely made things easier for us. We are so blessed to have such good family to help us, especially with both our moms being able to visit. Thank you to the both of you for everything! Here are some pics from Nanny's visit. We miss you already, but well see you soon!!

She also spoiled Molly a little bit more =)

Isaac's first trip to the beach
So, I know he's so young to go to the beach but we can't leave Hawaii without taking him at least once so we went to our favorite beach-Lanikai. He stayed in the shade and slept, but we got some really cute pictures.
Isaac's lunch on the beach-I love this one because of his little toes hanging out =)
